SetIT delivers professional structured cabling, cable management, network certification and fibre optic services across Dublin and Ireland. Every job is planned, documented and tested on completion.
What We Do
End-to-end network infrastructure services, from initial design through to installation and certification, for commercial premises of all sizes.
Structured cabling is the physical foundation of your entire IT and communications network. Instead of running a separate cable for each device as needed, a structured system is planned from the start: a single, organised infrastructure connecting your computers, phones, security cameras, Wi-Fi access points, and servers through one central distribution point.
Every cable run is routed, labelled and terminated to a consistent standard. The result is a network that is clean, logical and easy to understand regardless of who needs to work on it in future. A properly installed system reduces the risk of faults, makes troubleshooting faster and means growing your network as your business expands is simple and low-cost.
We handle everything from the initial site survey through to installation, testing and documentation.
Most businesses accumulate cabling over years. Each IT upgrade or new piece of equipment adds more cables to an already unorganised setup. The result is a tangle of unlabelled, undocumented wiring that makes troubleshooting difficult, creates a fire risk and presents a poor image to clients or auditors.
We start with a full audit of what you have. Redundant and unused cables get removed, live runs are rerouted and bundled neatly, and every connection is labelled clearly at both ends. Where needed, we use colour coded patch cables to make it easy to identify device types at a glance: for example, one colour for PCs, another for phones, another for printers or access points. Where cable performance has degraded, we replace and re-terminate to current standards.
When we are done, you get full documentation of your network layout so anyone working on it in future knows exactly what is where.
Network certification is the process of testing every installed cable link to verify it meets defined international performance standards. We carry out all testing using Fluke Networks equipment, the most trusted and widely recognised test platform in the cabling industry. Results from Fluke testers are accepted by all major hardware manufacturers and are the benchmark for professional installations.
Testing covers insertion loss, return loss, near-end crosstalk, propagation delay and overall channel performance at the relevant category. SetIT provides a full written certification report for every link tested: documented, traceable proof that your installation has been properly verified.
Any links that fail are identified, fixed and retested.
We handle fibre optic installations for commercial premises: runs between server rooms, between floors, or between buildings on the same site. This covers full design, cable installation, termination and splicing using professional-grade tools and materials.
Whether you are putting in new fibre from scratch or extending an existing fibre network, we manage the full job from start to finish. All installations are tested and a full test report is provided on completion, so you have documented confirmation that every link is performing correctly.
Fibre connectors and end-faces are inspected using a Fluke Networks fibre microscope. Dirty or damaged connectors are one of the most common causes of fibre faults and signal loss, and visual inspection is the only reliable way to confirm a connection is clean before it goes live.
We carry out end-to-end fibre testing and full fibre cleaning as standard on every fibre job. If connectors are found to be dirty or damaged during inspection, they are cleaned or replaced and re-inspected. No fibre job is signed off without a passed microscope inspection on every connector.
If you have inherited a network you do not fully understand, or your infrastructure has grown without any formal documentation, a network audit gives you a clear picture of exactly what you have.
We physically trace, identify and label every cable run and connection point, document the full layout in a structured format, and flag anything that is substandard, redundant or potentially causing issues. You get a complete record of your infrastructure: what is there, where it goes, what condition it is in, and what needs to be addressed.
An audit is often the first step before a cable management or recabling project, and is useful any time you need to understand your network before making changes to it.
Our Work
Structured cabling, cable management and certification projects completed across Dublin and Ireland.
Why It Matters
Poorly managed or unstructured cabling is one of the most common and easily preventable causes of network downtime in Irish businesses. When a fault occurs in an unmanaged network, identifying which cable is at fault can take hours, and every hour of downtime has a direct cost.
A properly planned and installed structured cabling system means any fault can be isolated and resolved in minutes. It also means your network can grow with your business: adding new desks, meeting rooms, or equipment is a straightforward process rather than an expensive and disruptive re-cabling job.
We have been doing this since 2018. Every job is tested and documented on completion.
Get in touch directly:
Faults are located and resolved in minutes, not hours. A documented, labelled network is a resilient one.
Proper infrastructure reduces emergency call-out costs and means future upgrades are cheaper and faster.
Every project leaves you with a complete record of your infrastructure, with no guesswork for future engineers.
Adding new users, rooms, or equipment is simple when your infrastructure was designed to grow.
Send us an email with your requirements and we will get back to you with a no-obligation quote.
